Emotions vs. Feelings
Emotions and Feelings Are They the Same Thing…? Well that depends on whose discussing this topic.
I’ve looked at the words emotions and feelings over time and they are used so interchangeably. There is a different expression of the energy in the content of these words. Since energy pervades our lives in every way I’d like to take a closer look at their meanings.
Emotions can run our lives. You may know that emotions can be like energy in motion picking up speed like a snowball rolling down a hill getting larger in size. The dictionary uses it in a way to describe feelings, yet when I look at the difference between emotions and feelings in the dictionary there are distinctions I’d like to make in applying an understanding of how to approach correcting problems as is shown in my product video on Breaking The Family Curse.
Emotions have to do with passion, tremor, agitation, excitement, disturbance, sentiment, tumult, and sensation. From my approach emotions are like energy racing in motion that can get out of control. Rage, anger, jealousy, and greed for instance are out of control emotions. An example of how emotions work is: when you wake up in the morning and begin to get out of bed and as you do, say you stubbed your toe and it hurt and you were angry or frustrated by that and your reaction to the rest of the day as it went along was that everything from that point on went along with the same agitation. Your energy followed your thoughts.
Feelings are more knowingness and understanding about a particular thing or state of being. Psychics use the term I feel that…often. It’s conveyed as an ability to see, sense, hear or know about something they want to convey to you.
An example of a feeling can be: I when into that place I felt a sense of peace and harmony there, or when I went into that place I felt like it gave me the creeps and I couldn’t wait to leave. Feelings have a different flavoring than emotions yet feelings and emotions are used to mean the same things and they can depending on if you think they are the same thing.
These words are used in the dictionary to describe feelings: The sense of touch, tactile sensation, the state of the body or of a part of it, opinion, sensitiveness, sensory response, perception, susceptibility, activity, personal reaction, pain, pleasure, motor response, reflex, (and here are the more important distinctions): consciousness, awareness, receptivity, tenderness, belief, thought, refinement, intelligence, intuition, outlook, attitude, discernment, spirit, and soul.
To me emotions are energy in motion picking up speed charged to an end result that can be pleasant, but I find that our emotions are mostly used in an unpleasant state of expression. Feelings, from my point of view, when expressed in a positive manner are the language of the soul speaking through to you. This state of feeling on a higher sensibility comes to you in peace about any matter, even if you do not like what you are deciphering about the matter at hand. You can still see the wisdom or truth about the feeling you have and you are able to go ahead on that guidance because it expresses or speaks truth to you, from the core within, in calmness, even if you are not happy about the answer you are receiving. This is when you can reach into your self on a deeper level and come out of your situation with new clarity because of this feeling, and actually change what has been a problem into a blessing. That’s much better than if you let your emotions run wild…wouldn’t you say?

There is also a place beyond thinking, feelings, and emotions and that is the most excellent place to be when one can quiet the mind and live more peacefully. I will be discussing that in another article or post.
